How to access the CLI - Hyperterminal

The first thing you need to do is to load up Hyperterminal. This is included with windows, and can be forund in the Acessories-->Communtications folder of the Start Menu. When you load it up you should get the following screen:
Hyperterminal splash screen
This will then change to the following screens. You will need to select the correct COM Port then press OK. Chances are it will be COM Port 1, but if it doesn't work, and there are more COM Ports listed in the drop down menu, try them all untill you find the correct one.
COM Port selection
You will then have the option of choosing a name and icon for the connection. The reason for this is that later on you will have the chance to save the connection, so that if you want to access the CLI through Hyperterminal again you can just load up the settings, rather than having to put them all in again. Shouldn't be too difficult for you to come up with a name, but the icons are all a bit naff!!

After that, you get the settings screen. From the drop down menus, choose the following settings:
Bits per second = 38400
Data bits = 8
Parity = None
Stop bits = 1
Flow control = None
